Bariloche, Argentina
This is it, the place I want to retire to one day. I loved all the places we experienced on our adventure but this place is just incredible. The steak. wine. mountains. lakes. hospitality. bus system. coffee. just some of the things that make this place heavenly. Chris and I made it here after a 30 hour bus ride down the length of Chile pretty much from Santiago. We almost got thrown off the bus and when we got to the bus station which is in the middle of nowhere we had no money and they had no ATM or (Cajeros Automaticos). We walked 2 miles into town just to find some Wifi to find an ATM.
Everywhere you looked in this city was something beautiful to see and the Andes are just so blue and pristine. We used Air Bnb the most on our trip but Bariloche is where our host sold us on it forever. Not only did we have our own little cottage but she provided coffee and breakfast in our rooms and a hundred maps to find the perfect hiking trails.
We took those maps and hiked the Circuito Chico which technically is a road that breaks off into the beautiful hiking trails but we got lost and ended up doing both. We hiked to incredible cliffs and wandered along the road until we begged a bus to take us home. All together it was about 15km but so worth it. Truthfully I think our greatest regret was not spending more time here.
