Oslo, Norway: Travel Photography

So Chris and I traveled actually a bunch this year and while I'm still working on a new travel focused blog I just felt it was time to share some of my captures from our adventure through Scandinavia. There are so many beautiful places in the world but for us we feel like we have found the most beautiful in Norway. This trip was everything we wanted and so much more. We got to experience some of our favorite international cuisine, explore with our friends in a way we love and see some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world. We also went in the winter for Norway which for some might sound crazy but for us it was absolutely the time to go. not only have I changed my concept for cold and can handle a lot colder winters here in the US, I also just found so much life giving joy seeing snow such a snow covered world. 

Our adventure starts in Oslo. A big part of traveling for Chris and I is cheap flying. Its a big part of the reason we get to see so many beautiful places. Since getting married my hobby has become literally searching for flights all over the world at all different times and creating adventures that don't break the bank. But while we can travel to Norway on the cheap, we love living it up and trying the best food, wine and adventures we can. Those for us are our priorities, to taste, see, smell and experience the culture and lifestyles of the rest of the world. 

So back to what I was saying :P we started our Scandinavian adventure hear in Oslo. We flew over with two of our great friends, Charley and Christine, who were on their spring break from teaching( yes if you're doing the math, we went to Norway in March of 2017 and its almost January... I'm very behind) The moment we got off the plane I think our hearts and minds were sold. We were exhausted but it didn't matter we were in Norway and it was incredible. 

We experienced the streets of Norway new and old, the incredible tastes of pickled fish and meatballs. We saw frozen lakes and forests, statue gardens, and look out views of the bay. I took a million pictures of the people, cityscapes and even forced my friends into multiple mini couples sessions (that I will not apologize for :P) When the wind got cold we went inside and explored art museums and sat in little cafes till our hands were warmed enough to get back out and explore. We watched the sunset from the top of monument and wandered the streets until it was dark. We ended each day with a beautiful meal and tried not to fight over how expensive things could be. One day you should ask us to tell you the story of how Pringles made Chris scream, "I'm my own person." We are in no way immune to the traveler's stress but we so enjoy the ups and downs and crazy stories that are created. 

The morning before we left we saw some of the last remaining Viking ships in the world. And from Oslo we trained to the western coast of Norway to experience the fjords of Bergen. Now if I follow the same pattern of blogging that I've been struggling through, waiting 9 months to blog 1 city, then you may not see Bergen until September 2018. You also may not see the whole story (4 cities in Norway, 1 in Sweden, 1 in Denmark and we also took a 5 day trip to Iceland) until June of 2022. So I do promise to get better than that but who knows, atleast it's something for you to look forward to.
