In Home Maternity Session

Sometimes you meet clients that you just hit it off with. Those are really the best sessions because all of us feel comfortable and fun and truly "out of comfortability comes creativity." I should coin that phrase because it's been a mantra all throughout my creative life. I love feeling laid-back and relaxed when I'm shooting, it's not because I'm not taking it seriously but because I get to actually be the artist you hired rather than a pressurized contractor. But i digress :)

This session with Claire and Brandon was definitely the most ideal from the comfyin home setting to all of us just having enough in common to never let the conversation lull. They are new to the Kansas City area just like me so I feel like we hit it off even more. I even thought, they should meet my husband, we would have so much fun grabbing drinks sometime. But mostly I just couldn't get over the sweet excitement they had about having their first little one. They were laughing and teasing about what to name her and Claire's supposed pregnancy brain. It kind of made me realize that in home maternity sessions are seriously the best of both worlds.

Don't get me wrong I do love the little kids with their energy and personality but sometimes trying to tame a rambunctious child is draining. But having a little one to at least talk about and focus on was just the perfect way to bring out all the feels from excitement to nerves to that sweet look you share with your partner that says, "dude we made a human being". I've decided to start calling these sweet sessions, Baby-moon Sessions because seriously thats what they are all about.
