Maddie Brown Brush Feature in People Magazine

Wow, it has been such an incredible past year! One of the big things that I got the opportunity to do was to capture this beautiful family as they welcomed their perfect little girl into the world. You’ll likely recognize this family from their appearance on the TLC show, Sister Wives, and they are even more awesome in person. When Maddie reached out I was honestly so honored to be meeting an expecting mom who wanted me to capture their little one’s birth and knew nothing about her fame. When she replied and wanted to meet for coffee I recognized her little google photo and realized I was speaking with someone I had definitely seen before on TV. It was not long after chatting that I realized we had tons in common, including a passion for natural birth and love for family.
I was honored to capture their Maternity, Birth and to Newborn story for little Evangalynn Kodi earlier this year. The first little granddaughter for the whole Brown family! I got to be there while TLC filmed their upcoming episode of Sisterwives though I’m not sure how much of my very pregnant self will even be seen when it airs later this year :P I was about 35 weeks when Maddie had little Evie so I was slowly but surely getting around the space. But by far my favorite part was reconnecting after the birth to take this set of sweet newborn photos to celebrate little Evie in all her beauty and uniqueness. You see Evangalynn was diagnosed with fibular aplasia, tibial campomelia and oligosyndactyly (FATCO) syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects her bones in utero. It was not something we fully expected so getting to capture these first days for their family so that Maddie could openly share the news with the world was a complete joy. I know Maddie and Caleb are so completely in love with Evie and their family of 4 and being a tiny part of capturing their story was one of coolest parts of 2019!
