Doula & birth Keeping
Services
Feeling supported, seen, and heard throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum can be incredibly vital to how you experience your transformation into parenthood. As a doula, my goal is to help you and your partner feel educated and empowered all throughout your experience whether you decide to birth in a hospital, at home, in a birth center, in the theater or even unassisted.
What does Birth Keeper mean?
I call myself a birth keeper because I have chosen to certify in more than just doula support, I am passionate about giving families all the tools for their journey and helping them navigate medical systems that feel counterintuitive to what they may need in the process. When I say “Birth keeping” I mean that my role in the birth space is to hold it sacred, to approach all things in a holistic way, and empower you as the mom to guide. I answer questions, help prepare your heart for birth, create birth plans, process with you postpartum, offer educational resources, and help you talk through some of the hard decisions that have to be faced during your pregnancy and birth journey. Each doula support is really catered to you and how you see your journey looking.
A lot of birth empowerment simply starts by knowing your options and knowing when to advocate. But I speak from personal experience when I say that birth may still become unpredictable and having a doula’s support can be vital to maintain power throughout the journey and finding healing after.
The holistic approach to birth includes not only education for having a healthy baby but a perspective on how to honor your experience as well!
What options do you offer as a Doula and birth Keeper?
I am a certified birth doula and holistic birth keeper so it will always be included with birth photography collections. The doula spirit in me comes naturally in every birth space so while my priority may be photography or capturing a film for you I will always support you emotionally, educationally and physically when needed or requested. Even if that looks like setting my camera down just to hold your hand, giving you ideas and encouragement for labor positions, or simply affirming your partner as they navigate the best way to support you. I am your sister and want you to have the best experience along with healing and empowering images of your transformation.
What is the difference when booking the Birth Keeper Package?
While I include birth support with all collections naturally, the Birth Keeper package includes the full experience before and after birth. This can be a great option for moms who don’t plan on hiring a separate doula or who want to try for a VBAC, unassisted birth or are first-time mom.

Words From Past Mothers sharing their experience
“While I thought I was simply inviting Hanna to my birth as our photographer, her presence in the space was so much more than that! She knew how to hold space for my partner and me throughout while still bringing joy and great energy to the birthing space.
She encouraged me through my pregnancy to have my first home birth surrounded by the support I had hoped for and envisioned even amidst COVID shut downs and masks.
Hanna then came back to reconnect with a postpartum visit and to do some more photos with our firstborn and new baby.
We processed about all the powerful bodily and emotional changes that I experienced after birth. I was feeling vulnerable postpartum but she made feel seen and supported.
She has continued providing support and encouragement as I’ve been processing my birth story and postpartum even months after.
I’m so thankful I invited Hanna into my birthing space!”
“After having a photographer at my first birth, I knew I needed to have a photographer for my second. I was still grieving a miscarriage from the previous year, and I felt so guarded about my pregnancy. I wanted to celebrate the sacredness of this pregnancy and sweet baby, if even just for me. The universe brought Hanna to us, and I couldn’t be more thankful. She was kind, and funny, and at ease in such an intense and intimate birthing space. I love her approach to birth photography, and the raw beauty she seeks out in her photos. So many details of my son’s birth will fade as the years pass, but I’m thankful that the beautiful, messy, vulnerable, and empowering process that is his birth will be captured forever. ”
