FAQs about Newborn Photography
Does my house have to be clean and perfect for our session?
I definitely don’t expect a perfectly tidy space. What I do need are rooms with lots of natural light and at least 1 good window.
If you want to tidy up those rooms a little before our session that would be great but again not necessary. I do my best to remove distracting clutter if necessary for the particular moment but oftentimes I leave it too because it tells the story of your family. These are relaxed sessions so don’t stress about cleaning before I even arrive, we want to capture the beauty of your family in the space that makes you all feel most comfortable
Can we include other family members?
Yes! I love including the whole family. I typically include big siblings for the majority of the session while still saving some time for just baby and parents. If grandparents or other special family members are present we can easily save the last 15 minutes for portraits of them with baby as well.
Can we get solo pictures of baby?
Of course!
While I don’t do studio style setups, I always include some naturally posed moments of just baby tightly swaddled on their own. I also make sure to capture a few sweet baby detail photos of toes and hands because it will blow your mind how fast they grow!
How does scheduling work?
When booking I put your estimated due date on my calendar. Once baby arrives it’s up to you to contact me as soon as possible so we can schedule your newborn session within 1-3 weeks. The sooner you reach out the more flexibility I have for days/times.
