Lewis P. In Home Newborn Session | Jacksonville, FL

I have known this couple for almost 5 years and Leah I have known since I was a kid. It could easily be 12-15 years :P It's kind of crazy how life brings you in and out of people's lives at different seasons. Leah and Matt's Wedding was actually the first one I ever photographed. I actually doubled as ceremony singer and photographer :p So when Leah reached out to me to take their sweet little one's first photo session I was so utterly honored. It's been so many years since I had gotten to see them and my work and life had changed so much since the last time I got to photograph them.

Both Leah and Matt are incredible artists and photographers in their own right and run their own photography business in Jacksonville, FL called Silver Shores Photography. They have always had a huge heart for others and they tell some stunning stories of family and love with their work. So being asked to photograph their newborn session, felt like a big deal.

There sweet Lewis was such a tender hearted little one. I got to capture not just the celebration of bringing him home but the moments of motherhood and fatherhood that are ever changing Leah and Matt. This beautiful season of tired eyes, emotional pouring out and filling up and the joyful light that you feel knowing your little one is finally in your arms is honestly unlike anything else.

There is depth to telling stories during emotionally raw, new or intimate seasons. The newborn stage is sometimes the rawest of them all. But knowing this sweet couple for as long as I have made my job that much more invested. I got to watch the selflessness of Matt and and the fierceness of Leah growing with each moment as they invested their hopes and love into parenthood and into Lewis. It was beautiful in it's warmth and it's imperfections. I'm so thankful to have been able to walk along side these two even just for a couple hours, witnessing their love for each other and Lewis.
