These photos have swiftly become some of my favorites. The coziness of this beautiful first time mom snuggled up with her sweet hubby and little boy, melts be every time. I met Lia and Andrew through a mutual friend and super early if I recall in their pregnancy. Lia really wanted to meet and hear details first so she could best choose the perfect session to celebrate her little one. And I loved that, I love being able to grab a cup of coffee and talk babies, birth and photography!
It ended up being perfect that she chose an at home newborn session. Because soon after little Jude was born they all ended up moving from this sweet first home they shared as a family of three. Getting to celebrate not just those perfect little details but also the place and setting of where the memories were made always brings another level of depth and story to photos.
There was something so timeless about the style of this session, the joy on their faces and the color bring me back to the 1970s/60s and I completely love it. The whole session screams young love, first time parents, first home, and just the beginning of their long and beautiful story. One of my favorites moments (which was really this whole session:P) was when I asked if they wanted to bring little Jude outside, to get a little fresh air and celebrate the sweet season he was born in. They of course were down and those little sweet moments of them as a family of three on the steps of their home bring me so much joy. Those are the moments they will look back on when Jude goes off to college or moves out of their home for the first time. They will revel in the memories of bringing their little baby home and the sleepless nights they shared. They will cry thinking about how tiny he was and how big he has grown to be. They will be so proud to have been his parents! ... it gives me chills :)
