The last few years have been heavy, they have been lonely and they have felt hard to celebrate. But our littles are still growing and these moments and memories we make with our families are still happening whether it’s a hard year or an easy one. That’s why photography is so important. A chance to document the beautiful journey unfolding before you, and even though you can’t always see the light at the end you’ll aways be able to look back and remember the laughter, the growth, and connections that make each year parenting so completely worth it.

The goal of a mini family session is to capture the authentic playfulness and joy of your family. While these sessions may feel quick, the beauty is in gathering together in a beautiful place and creating memories to cherish. The sweet moments of cuddling on a blanket, swinging your two-year-old in the air, standing hand and hand as a new family of four, taking a moment of quiet to celebrate your growing baby bump or sharing an intimate moment of you and your partner after surviving another year of lockdowns and life change.

These sessions are not cookie-cutter because you and your family are not cookie-cutter. You are unique and you are celebrating those unique parts of your beautiful family journey. these sessions are not overly posed, you will be directed into moments of play, walking, cuddling, and being a family.

Each Session will be 20 minutes at a special Hillside location.

They will include 5 fully edited images

with downloading and print release.

You will receive a full viewing gallery and be able to select your favorite 5 and purchase additional files or prints right there in your gallery shop!

Mini Sessions this year are

£80

with full payment needed at contract signing to reserve your session.

All payments are amde through direct bank transfer info will be sent after booking.

Once you're paid up and the contract signed

you'll be officially on the schedule!

How to Book your Family Mini Session?

Click the link “Book Today” to be taken to a list of the available times. Once you have the perfect time selected, you’ll be prompted for your info and I will be in touch with contract and invoice details so you can officially book your time slot. You will have 24 hours after receiving the further details from me before your slot is placed back on the calendar for others.

Once all is finished you’ll receive a confirmation email.

This beautiful spot gives everything you could hope for in terms of easy access, stunning views, and the ability to catch the ever-changing skies of England. lt includes a grassy field, treelined spots for the changing leaves, and a stunning view of Durham.

What Should we wear?

I always encourage my family to dress nice but laidback. I love capturing a mix of color and patterns. I love a good dress and there is nothing better than a dad in a crew neck sweater! I offer complimentary style direction for each family if you would like more help or guidance in pulling together the perfect family ensemble.

What should We “not” wear"?

No tees with graphics, writing, or distracting information
Don’t get too matchy, let color and pattern blend together
Nothing too short or tight may make it hard to sit in the grass or you will feel the need to adjust constantly.
No hats unless approved prior to the session because depending on the light you may be asked to take it off and you don’t want to have hat hair.
No heels or uncomfortable shoes that will prevent you from walking the nature trails and field area.

What Should we bring to our session?

Always bring a blanket!

Due to COVID, I will not be bringing a shared blanket this year and ask that each family bring one for their session. We will do a mixture of walking, standing, sitting, snuggling, and even lying down if the organic mood strikes us, so be sure to have something to relax on other than the cold ground.

Also leave the snacks in the car.

But definitely bring along books or small toys if your little one may need a little distracting and you’re ok with them being in the images. These sessions are fun, not posey in any way so letting them wander and explore, pick up sticks or flowers is definitely allowed (and a little encouraged!)

Can we bring our pets?

Yes, but please let me know prior to the session! I am in no way a professional pet photographer but if having photos of your family playing with your sweet animals is important to you I’d be happy to include them and this location lends itself well to frolicking pups in the high grass.

How many images will I receive?

Included with each session are 5 Hand-edited, high-resolution images with a personal print release. You will receive access to an online viewing gallery of edited files(25-40) for you to select your favorite 5 for download.

You will also be able to purchase additional photos individually (£18 per image), in discounted sets, or purchase the entire gallery if you would like!

How long will my session last?

Sessions will last 20 minutes from "hello" to "see ya soon!" It is important to be about 5-10 minutes early and be at the set location right at your start time. There is only a small window in between each session so any lateness will cut into your session not the next families.

What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?

Overcast, even drizzly weather can make for good photographs...Umbrellas and raincoats are adorable and fun!! But, I do understand that it’s not feasible for all situations. On the day of our Session or the night before, I will make the call on whether we will try and attempt or not, I will do my best to move sessions around to get everyone photographed within the day. This could mean moving into the afternoon if the forecast looks more forgiving. But if the weather is truly pouring down and we have really no choice...

All sessions will be moved to the following day (SUNDAY) or (SATURDAY) October 23 exact times will be first come first serve in terms of availibility

Can we use our slot for Maternity or Couples photos?

Yes!

If you are expecting a little one or celebrating your love, you are welcome to book these Fall Mini Sessions!

Is there a limit on how many can come to the session?

Yes,

since we are limited on time, only the nuclear family is welcome to your session slot (ie. parents and children) If you would like to include grandparents or share your session with other members of your family, just let me know and we can upgrade your session to an Extended family session this Fall and customize it to a location and time that works for the whole family!
